Next Monday is Last Opening Day for Double-A Mudcats

Next monday will be the last opening day in Zebulon (NC) and Five County Stadium for the Double-A Carolina Mudcats.  The Southern League team will be relocating to Pensacola (FL) after the 2011 season.  No need to fret though, as the Single-A Kinston (NC) Indians from the Carolina League will be heading to Zebulon to replace them.  Read more here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the link.

Barons, City to Discuss Move Downtown

Don Logan, owner of the Double-A Birmingham Barons, has agreed to meet with Birmingham Mayor William Bell to discuss a possible move by the Barons from Regions Park in Hoover to a new downtown ballpark in Birmingham.  Read more here.
