UK Wildcats Open New Ballpark

On Tuesday, the University of Kentucky Wildcats baseball team opened their new stadiuim, Kentuckey Proud Park, in front of a crowd of 4,047 fans. Read more here and here.

University of Florida Updates Timeline, Costs for New Ballpark

The University of Florida Athletic Department has announced an updated timeline and budget for the Gators’ new ballpark, in addition to detailing Phase III of the planned facilities upgrades. Initially estimated to cost $50 million, the project will have a $65 million budget and a groundbreaking in February. Read more here.

Hoover Met Keeping SEC Tournament

SECThe SEC Baseball Tournament is staying in Hoover (AL).  The SEC’s athletic directors authorized commissioner Greg Sankey to negotiate with Hoover for the 2017 tournament and moving forward “for a time to be determined” on Friday.  Read more here.  Thanks to Joe DeLeonard for the link.

SEC Exploring New Locations for Baseball Tournament

Commodores Open Practice on New Turf
