Coveleski Stadium’s Synagogue Gift Shop
Just beyond the left-field fence at Coveleski Stadium, home to the Single-A South Bend Silver Hawks (Midwest League), a synagogue sat unused for years. When Andrew Berlin, who is Jewish, purchased the Silver Hawks in 2011, he overlooked the dilapidated building and developed a vision for saving it. Read more and view photo here. Silver Hawks Paint Visiting Team’s Locker Room Pink
The Single-A South Bend Silver Hawks (Midwest League) are playing dirty…er…sweet. They have painted the visiting team’s locker room at Coveleski Stadium a wonderful shade of pink and added flowers for a delightful ambiance. Star Wars Night Tonight in South Bend
Returning once again to Coveleski Stadium for 2012 is Star Wars Night. The Silver Hawks will welcome characters from the iconic films to the ballpark and encourage fans to wear their favorite outfits from the movies. Silver Hawks Unveil Stadium Upgrades, Announce New President
Andrew Berlin, the new owner of the Single-A South Bend Silver Hawks, unveiled $3.75 million in renovations today that will be done to Coveleski Stadium in time for the 2012 season. $2 million will come from the team, and the other $1.75 will be covered by the city. Long-Term Lease Approved for S’Hawks, Upgrades Planned
The South Bend (IN) parks board has approved a 20-year ballpark lease with the new owner of the Single-A South Bend Silver Hawks (Midwest League), Chicago businessman Andrew Berlin. Coveleski to Get Major Makeover
Coveleski Stadium, home of the South Bend (IN) Silver Hawks, is expected to get a $10 million makeover before the 2011 season. $5 million will come from a federal Recovery Zone Economic Development bond, $2 million will come from tax increment financing (TIF), and $3 million will come frome previously collected income tax dollars that have been stockpiled by the city for major projects.
