South Bend Cubs to Celebrate ‘Mister Rogers Day’ Aug. 12

The South Bend Cubs (Single-A, Midswest League) will celebrate the legacy of Fred Rogers with “Mister Rogers Day” on Sunday, August 12.  On this “beautiful day in the neighborhood,” the team will wear Mister Rogers-themed jerseys and activities honoring the television icon will take place throughout the game.  Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit WNIT Public Television. Energizing South Bend ‘Wrigleyville” Concept: Return South Shore Line to Downtown Union Station

With millions of dollars coming into downtown South Bend (IN), the city is growing quickly and attracting people from across the country. South Bend Cubs (Single-A, Midwest League) owner Andrew Berlin envisions creating a “Wrigleyville” for the Four Winds Field, and the return of the South Shore Line to downtown Union Station would play a major role in accomplishing that dream. Officials Break Ground on Residential Development at Four Winds Field

The baseball season won’t start for a couple more weeks at Four Winds Field, home of the South Bend Cubs (Single-A, Midwest League), but the construction season is now underway, as officials broke ground on a $22-million housing project being built beyond the left field fence.  Read more here.  View renderings here.

No Bids for Parcels Available for Development Around SB Cubs Ballpark

South Bend Cubs Primary LogoSome prime city-owned parcels around South Winds Field, home of the South Bend Cubs (Single-A, Midwest League), were put up for sale Thursday, but no offers were received.  Nonetheless, city officials remain hopeful of making something big happen around the ballpark, similar to development in Fort Wayne.  Read more here.

South Bend Cubs Unveil Logos, Uniform Design

South Bend Silver Hawks Now ‘South Bend Cubs’

Chicago Cubs LogoPRESS RELEASE – The Class A minor league baseball team playing out of Four Winds Field in downtown South Bend has changed its name. The announcement was made official by Andrew Berlin, sole owner of the team who was joined by the President of the South Bend team and top management from the Chicago Cubs in a press conference held early today at the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce.
