City Considers Options for Lake Olmstead Stadium

A big question for Augusta’s (GA) Lake Olmstead area is what the future holds for the city-owned baseball stadium, now that the Augusta GreenJackets (Single-A, South Atlantic League) are relocating to a new ballpark in North Augusta (SC).  The city is considering its options.  Some Augusta commissioners say it would be a great outdoor concert venue.  Read more and watch news video here.

BlueClaws Announce 2018 Ballpark Improvements

PRESS RELEASE – As the BlueClaws embark on a new season of fun at the Jersey Shore, several exciting additions are coming to FirstEnergy Park! The team unveiled an ambitious multi-year re-development plan for a series of family & fan enhancements, the first major series of renovations since the ballpark opened in 2001. The 2018 phase of the plan includes both a miniature golf course and boardwalk attractions, both games and food options, around the outfield concourse.

GreenJackets Ballpark Update

The new stadium for the Augusta GreenJackets (Single-A, South Atlantic League), the right-field restaurant, and the adjacent apartments and hotel deck are all under construction in North Augusta (SC).  Construction is expected to begin on the condos and retail development directly around the hotel in next 60-90 days.  Read more and watch news report here.

Legends Win MiLB John Henry Moss Community Service Award

PRESS RELEASE – Minor League Baseball today named the Lexington Legends the recipient of the fifth annual John Henry Moss Community Service Award. The award was created in 2013 by Minor League Baseball in honor of the late John Henry Moss, who founded what would become the South Atlantic League in 1959 and headed the circuit until 2007. Record Crowd Watches Eclipse, Fireflies

Nine-Story Building to be Integrated into Greensboro Ballpark

A group of Triad developers plan to build the first major downtown office project in two decades at the entrance of the Greensboro Grasshoppers’ (Single-A, South Atlantic League) First National Bank Field.  The $24 million, nine-story building will be integrated into the ballpark’s entrance and overlook the baseball diamond.  Read more here.  View renderings here.
