Name Change on Deck for Razorbacks Ballpark

The University of Arkansas board of trustees will vote this week on whether to modify the name of the Razorbacks’ baseball stadium from Baum Stadium to Baum-Walker Stadium.  The request comes after the Willard & Pat Walker Charitable Foundation pledged a $5 million lead gift toward the construction of a $25-million, 40,000-square-foot operations center on the stadium grounds.  Read more here.

University of Florida Updates Timeline, Costs for New Ballpark

The University of Florida Athletic Department has announced an updated timeline and budget for the Gators’ new ballpark, in addition to detailing Phase III of the planned facilities upgrades. Initially estimated to cost $50 million, the project will have a $65 million budget and a groundbreaking in February. Read more here.

UK’s New Baseball Stadium Named ‘Kentucky Proud Park’

Whoa! Wildcats Get First Look at New $49M UK Baseball Stadium

Former Kentucky baseball coach Keith Madison once had a dream about a day like Saturday. A day when the Wildcat baseball team would move into a new home. Tennessee AD Talking Ballpark Upgrades

University of Tennessee Athletic Director Phillip Fulmer suggested on the Big Orange Caravan tour last week that he plans for the 26-year-old Lindsey Nelson Stadium, home of the Volunteers baseball team, to receive a significant upgrade during his time as athletic director.  Read more here.

LSU Board Votes to Expand Baseball Facility

The LSU Board of Supervisors on Friday approved the expansion of the baseball hitting facility at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. The project will add 4,300 square feet of space to the facility, including a 3,500 square-foot weight room.  Read more and view rendering gallery here.

Kentucky Wildcats ‘Top Out’ New Baseball Stadium

Bulldogs Practice, Will Play Ball in Midst of $55M Ballpark Construction

The Mississippi State baseball team began fall practice this week, and the Bulldogs have begun using the under-construction, new Dudy Noble Field on a limited basis.  The team will play through the construction in 2018 as the lower level of the stadium, as well as outfield seating, is expected to be ready.  Read more and view construction photo here.

New Ballpark on Deck for Florida Gators

The University of Florida’s athletic association has posted an ad for an architect and design team for a new 5,500-seat baseball stadium for the Gators that would be scheduled to be ready for the 2020 season at a cost of $45,878,800.  Read more here.  View project plan here.

Demolition Underway at Dudy Noble Field

As previously reported, Mississippi State’s Dudy Noble Field-Pole-Dement Stadium, which has hosted four SEC tournaments, a number of NCAA Regionals and two Super Regionals, is being renovated this offseason.  As shown in a recent video posted, demolition has already begun.  Watch video here.

UK Breaks Ground on New Ballpark

Hoover Met Keeping SEC Tournament

City Aims to Keep SEC Tournament at Hoover Met

Razorbacks Ballpark Turns 20, Still Looks Shiny and New

SEC Interviewing City and County Officials Over Miami Ballpark Financing

Miami Marlins New LogoMiami (FL) Mayor Tomás Regalado will be the latest public official to be interviewed by the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission regulators, who are investigating the public bond sales that financed the Miami Marlins’ $634 million ballpark in Little Havana.  Regalado has blocked out six hours of his schedule today to meet with the SEC.  Read more here.
