We don’t know how meaningful this is to baseball fans in San Francisco, but plans for a new apartment complex is apparently going to force the destruction of the backroom of the Double Play Bar & Grill at 16th and Bryant streets where a mural of old Seals Stadium was painted some years ago. Remembering Seals Stadium
Peter Hartlaub, a pop culture critic at the San Francisco Chronicle, has put together a photo tribute to Seals Stadium, an 18,500-seat ballpark built in 1931 near the center of San Francisco. The stadium served as the home of Triple-A San Francisco Seals (Pacific Coast League) and briefly the San Francisco Giants before it was demolished in 1959. Read more and view photos here.
