Sarasota Approves Orioles Ballpark Deal a Second Time
In order to bolster their case in a lawsuit over alleged backdoor dealings (the breaking of open meetings and public records laws) when $26 million in bonds were approved to rebuild Ed Smith Stadium for the Baltimore Orioles, Sarasota County Commissioners held a public hearing to listen to presentations, go over all the facts, and allow for public comment on the project. The Camdenization of Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota
Janet Marie Smith, the vice president of planning and development for the Baltimore Orioles, is handling the design responsibilities for the $31.2 million rebuild of Ed Smith Stadium that the Orioles are expected to occupy in 2011.
