After Divisive Vote, Beer Sales Approved

With the mayor providing the tie-breaking vote, the Santa Fe (NM) City Council gaves its approval for beer sales at Fort Marcy Park, the new home for the indy pro Santa Fe Mountain Lions (Pecos League).  However, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican, beer sales and advertising will be quite strict:

“Patrons will be limited to three 12-ounce drinks that must be consumed in a fenced-off beer garden with private security. No beer sales will be allowed after the sixth inning. No advertisement of beer sales will be permitted on field fences.”

Pecos League (Sort Of) Commits to Santa Fe, Unveils Unis, Battles for Beer

The second-year Pecos League has announced that the expansion Santa Fe Mountain Lions will begin play in 2012.  A final agreement to use Fort Marcy Park is apparently still pending.  The city council is scheduled to address the contentious issue of beer sales at a meeting on Tuesday, November 8.

Council Postpones Decision on Beer Sales

The Sante Fe (NM) City Council has postponed a decision on allowing beer sales at Fort Marcy Park, as requested by the expansion Santa Fe Mountain Lions from the fledgling indy pro Pecos League.  If approved, fans would be limited to three drinks, sales would stop after the sixth inning, and security would be placed at the entrance and exit of a fenced-in beer garden.  Read more here.
