Bees Expand Youth Programming

An estimated 500 youths participated in Major League Baseball’s “Play Ball” event at Smith’s Ballpark on Saturday, which also served as an announcement by the Salt Lake Bees (Triple-A, Pacific Coast League) that they will expand their youth baseball initiatives.  Read more here.

Bees Turn to Humidor to Stop Cheap HRs

The Salt Lake Bees (Triple-A, Pacific Coast League) have installed a baseball humidor at Smith’s Ballpark to keep the balls from shrinking, hardening and losing friction, which  can cause them pop off the bat for what Bees spokeman Kraig Williams calls “cheap home runs.”  Read more and view photo here.

Bees, Angels Extend PDC

PRESS RELEASE – The Salt Lake Bees and Los Angeles Angels announced today the extension of their Player Development Contract through the 2018 season. The new contract adds two years to the previous affiliation agreement that was renewed in May of 2014. The Bees have been the top affiliate of the Angels since 2001.

The Only ‘Voice of the Bees’ Since 1994 to Call 3,000th Game Tuesday

PRESS RELEASE – Veteran radio broadcaster Steve Klauke will announce his 3,000th game for the Salt Lake Bees on Tuesday afternoon at Smith’s Ballpark when the Bees play the Nashville Sounds. Entering today’s game, Klauke will have called 2,999 of a possible 3,009 games in franchise history.

Smith’s Ballpark Unveiled as New Stadium Name for Bees

Bees Honor Trappers’ 29 in a Row

The Triple-A Salt Lake Bees (Pacific Coast League) honored the 1987 Salt Lake Trappers Thursday night, marking the 25th anniversary of the team’s 29 consecutive games won. Bees to Hold Military Appreciation Night

PRESS RELEASE – The Salt Lake Bees will hold Military Appreciation Night at Spring Mobile Ballpark on Friday, May 28 as the Bees take on the Fresno Grizzlies at 7:05 p.m. In honor of men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, the team will wear camouflage jerseys.
