Shorebirds to Change Name to ‘Delmarva Scrapple’ for One Game

PRESS RELEASE – The Delmarva Shorebirds will honor scrapple and play as the Delmarva Scrapple during their game on Saturday, August 18th against the Kannapolis Intimidators. Scrapple is a breakfast meat that is extremely popular on the Delmarva Peninsula and in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Whether you enjoy your scrapple thin and crispy or thick and mushy, on an egg and cheese sandwich, with ketchup, grape jelly, or with maple syrup, this celebration is for you.

Salisbury University Opens New Ballpark

Salisbury University President Janet Dudley-Eshbach walked out to midway between the pitcher’s mound and home plate prepared to throw out the first pitch, officially opening the new Sea Gull Baseball Stadium.  Read more and view photos here.

Salisbury University Opening New Baseball Stadium Feb. 10

While campus grew quiet during the winter semester, progress expanded on Salisbury University’s East Campus in Salisbury (MD) as the final stages are completed on a few projects, including the new Sea Gull Baseball Stadium. The public will get their first chance to experience the new facility when the Sea gulls host Gwynedd Mercy University on Opening Day Feb. 10. The community on Maryland’s Eastern Shore is also home of the Delmarva Shorebirds (Single-A, South Atlantic League), who play at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Read more here.

Delmarva Bolsters Front Office Staff

PRESS RELEASE – The Delmarva Shorebirds, Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, have completed a number of moves to its front office staff to help prepare for the 2016 season. The movement consists of the addition of a new broadcaster, two ticket sales account executives and the promotion of two existing employees to new roles.

Upgrades Proposed for Perdue Stadium

A wraparound outfield deck, a new video board, swaths of additional reserved seating and a statue of Arthur W.
