RiverHawks, Park District Could Team Up for Tournaments
The indy pro Rockford RiverHawks (Frontier League) are in talks with the Rockford Park District about making their stadium available for tournaments being held at the Sportscore Two Complex. The RiverHawks would like to see new artificial turf installed to handle the increased traffic. Signs Point to a Dark 2011 for the Kalamazoo Kings
Frances Jewell, director of parks and recreation for the city of Kalamazoo (MI), said that she received notice from Frontier League Commissioner Bill Lee on Thursday that the Kalamazoo Kings might not play this year. The Kings could go dark, if they are replaced on the schedule by the Northern League’s/North American League’s Rockford (IL) RiverHawks, which reportedly will rejoin the circuit under new ownership.
