Grant Awarded for Frontier Field Upgrades
Empire State Development has awarded Monroe County (NY) a $550,000 grant to help fund significant upgrades to Frontier Field in Rochester, home of the Rochester Red Wings (Triple-A, International League). Planned improvements include a 360-degree concourse, kids area, beer and wine garden, an expanded party space, and more. Read more here.
Red Wings Unveil Brand New Seating Venue for 2019
PRESS RELEASE – Red Wings fans will be able to experience a game from a brand new vantage point in 2019. The new area – located just over the left field fence between the foul pole and visitor’s bullpen – will include five half-moon tables with four swivel seats at each table. Behind the tables, a drink rail with 20 barstool-style chairs will span the entire area. Both the tables and drink rail will be equipped with phone charging outlets.

Red Wings to Pay Homage to ‘Hop Bitters’
The Rochester Red Wings (Triple-A, International League) first donned their current moniker in 1929, but professional baseball in the city spans all the way back to 1877. Over the next few years, the team will pay homage to those clubs who called Rochester (NY) their home. On Saturday, May 26, the Red Wings will take the field as the Rochester Hop Bitters, who played in the National Association in 1879 and 1880. Read more here.
Lease Drama Over, Red Wings to Stay at Frontier Field
After weeks of tedious stadium lease negotiations, Silver and Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo jointly announced an extension that will keep the Rochester Red Wings (Triple-A, International League) playing at Frontier Field for the next 10 years, with a mutual option for an additional 10 years. GCBC Issues Statement on Muckdogs
Genessee County Baseball Club (GCBC), the nonprofit that has owned the Batavia Muckdogs (Single-A, New York-Penn League, issued a statement last week announcing that the franchise has been transferred to the league. Read statement here. If the NYPL Muckdogs do not return to Dwyer Stadium in 2018, expect the summer collegiate PGCBL and NYCBL to be all over it.

Sale of Muckdogs Mucked Up
Naomi Silver, chief executive and chief operating officer of the Rochester Red Wings (Triple-A, International League), said the sale of the Batavia Muckdogs (Single-A, New York-Penn League) fell through because the prospective ownership group was not granted permission from teams and leagues that have territorial rights in Waldorf (MD). Frontier Communications Extends Ballpark Naming Rights Partnership

Red Wings Seeking State Funds for Frontier Field Upgrades
