Reno Aces Announce 10th Season Celebration

The Reno Aces (Triple-A, Pacific Coast League) have released their 2018 promotional schedule with a wide variety of exciting events set for the 10th Season Celebration. Washoe County, Aces Ballpark Owners Still Haggling Over Deliquent Tax Bill

Reno Council Approves Ballpark Refinancing Deal, Ball Now in Washoe County’s Court

Comparing the Triple-A Stadium Deals

As El Paso takes steps to bring Triple-A baseball to downtown, ABC-7 compares the terms of the city’s proposed stadium deal with ballpark agreements in Albuquerque (NM) and Reno (NV).  The Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes (Pacific Coast League) pay out a whopping $1.6 to $2 million each year to their host city, but El Paso Deputy City Manger Bill Studer doesn’t believe that’s feasible for El Paso.  Read more here.

Aces vs. The Tax Man: Six-Month Lease on Deck

Washoe County says that Nevada Land LLC, which leases Aces Ballpark from the Reno Redevelopment Agency for the Triple-A Reno Aces (Pacific Coast League), owes $332,000 in property taxes this year and $761,000 is back taxes and penalties.  Nevada Land thinks it’s too much because the property is only used six months out of the year.  They have appealed the assessment to the state Board of Continue reading

Aces, Washoe County in Dispute Over $718,717 in Unpaid Property Taxes

Washoe County (NV) says that the Triple-A Reno Aces owe $718,717 in unpaid property taxes on the land on which Aces Ballpark sits, but the Aces argue that the taxes have not been paid because they are awaiting a decision by the Nevada Board of Equalization in a dispute over the county assessor’s valuation of the property.  Read more here.
