Pecos League Announces Taos Blizzard and Pecos Bills, Pueblo Off the Table

Pecos League Gunning for Pueblo (CO)

The first-year Pecos League will extend its 2012 expansion feelers to Pueblo (CO) by playing two games between the Roswell Invaders and the Riodoso Osos at Hobbs Field at the Runyon Sports Complex on July 29 and 30.  Quoting facility chief Dave Dudly, “We’ll see how it goes.”  Indeed, we will.  Read more here.

SSL Announces 2011 Teams in South Division

The new Southwestern States League has announced that the 2011 lineup (to date) will include the Clovis (NM) Rhythm, Brenham (TX) Bulls, Blackwell (OK) Broncos, Elk City (OK) Wranglers, and Kingfisher (OK) Pioneers.  The Clovis team will play at Clovis Schools-run Bell Park, where beer sales are not allowed.  Read more here.  The Bulls, Broncos, Wranglers, and Pioneers will play at Fireman’s Park, Continue reading

Permian Basin Eyes Pueblo

The new Permian Basin League is claiming that it’s close to a deal that would bring a franchise to Hobbs Field at Runyon Sports Complex in Pueblo (CO).  The last number we saw from a previous league that tried to lease the park was $600 per game, which we felt was a bit stiff, particularly without full concessions and signage revenues.
