Building Coming Down to Make Room for Pueblo’s Ballpark-Area Development

The old Pueblo (CO) Police Department annex building that sits near the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk is going to face the wrecking ball.  The building, owned by the city, is located on one of the lots the Pueblo County commissioners are proposing for a hotel to be developed within the tax increment financing district being used to fund the new $25 million ballpark.  Read more here.

Orem to Pueblo Announcement at 11:00 A.M. CDT Today

A well-placed source confirms that the Orem Owlz (Rookie, Pioneer League) are relocating to Pueblo (CO).  A formal announcement is scheduled for Wednesday.  Read more and watch news report here.

Affiliated Ball to Return to Pueblo?

No New Ballpark for Pueblo

Forget the minor league baseball field.  The Pueblo (CO) City Council heard a very scaled-down plan Monday night for developing the Black Hills Energy property in the Downtown and it didn’t include a minor league baseball stadium.  Read more here.  Read background here.

Pueblo (CO) Exploring New Ballpark, Professional Baseball

Pueblo County’s Operation Home Run committee is exploring the idea of building a professional baseball stadium and youth complex at the site near the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo (CO).  If it’s affiliated ball, the Rookie-level Pioneer League would seem to make the most sense, although it would be the circuit’s furthest outpost.  Read more and view renderings here.  Read previous story here.
