There’s really not much new news here, but Art Silber, the owner of the Single-A Potomac Nationals (Carolina League), told the Prince William County Board of Supervisors recently that he is getting closer to a deal to bring a new ballpark to Woodbridge (VA). He also said that the team might move, if approvals are not in place to begin construction by 2015. Read more here.

County Pursues Funding for New Parking Structure for Ballpark
While a new stadium for the Single-A Potomac Nationals (Carolina League) has yet to be signed, sealed, and delivered, the Prince William County (VA) Board of Supervisors are moving forward with a request for $5 million from Virginia’s Transportation Partnership Opportunity Fund to build a new $15 million, 1,250-space parking garage to serve baseball fans, shoppers, and commuters. New P-Nats Park by 2013?
According to Art Silber, owner of the Single-A Potomac Nationals (Carolina League), “tremendous progress” is being made in locating a site in Prince William County (VA) for a proposed new ballpark for the team. Plans continue to target 2013 for a facility grand opening. Read more here.

Pfitzner Stadium to Get Field Upgrades After Spat
Despite the fact that Potomac Nationals owner Art Silber is working on a new privately-funded ballpark for his Single-A, Carolina League club, Prince William County (VA) has decided to spend up to $250,000 on playing field upgrades at Pfitzner Stadium. Read more here. Just last week, there was a three-way spat between Silber, the county, and the Washington Nationals over the field’s conditions.
