Next Stop for P-Nats

Now that a ballpark deal for the Potomac Nationals (Single-A, Carolina League) in Prince William County (VA) is apparently dead, where will the team go?  Owner Art Silber says he wants to keep the team in Northern Virginia. Loudoun County supervisor Ron Meyer reportedly said the team is more than welcome there.  Spotsylvania County is a possibility.  Arlington County is out, but Alexandria is a potential option.  Read more here.

P-Nats Get Their Wish, No Ballpark Referendum

The Potomac Nationals (Single-A, Carolina League) inched closer to a new baseball stadium, as Prince William’s (VA) board of county supervisors decided against a referendum that would’ve allowed voters to decide whether to use $35 million in bond money to help build a new stadium for the franchise.  Read more here.

MiLB President Presses Prince William County on New P-Nats Ballpark

Minor League Baseball Pat O’Connor showed his frustration yesterday at the lack of urgency to build the Potomac Nationals (Single-A, Carolina League) a new stadium.  In a meeting with the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, he said Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge (VA) is not up to the league’s player development and fan standards.  Read more here.

Supervisor Wants P-Nats Ballpark Plan on November Ballot

County Bolsters Proposal for New P-Nats Ballpark

Prince William County (VA) is taking more steps toward a new stadium for its minor league baseball team.  The Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to spend $200,000 for a financial impact study on a new ballpark and parking garage for the Potomac Nationals (Single-A, Carolina League) at The JBG Cos.’ Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center in Woodbridge (VA).  Read more here.
