U-18 Baseball World Cup Begins Friday in Thunder Bay

Thunder Bay’s Port Arthur Stadium, home of the Thunder Bay Border Cats (Summer Collegiate, Northwoods League), is one of the host sites of the 2017 Under-18 Baseball World Cup, which will see national teams from 12 countries compete for the title of world champion.  The tournament runs from Sept. 1-10, with games also happening at Baseball Central.  Read more here.

Labatt Crowned Canada’s Favourite Ballpark

Over the past two weeks, more than 19,000 votes were cast in the championship round of Canada’s Favourite Ballpark contest.  In the end, Labatt Park, former home of the indy pro London (ON) Werewolves (Frontier League), “narrowly edged-out” the Port Arthur Stadium, home of the summer collegiate Thunder Bay (ON) Border Cats (Northwoods League), to win it all.  Read more here.

Final Round of Voting Begins in Canada’s Favourite Ballpark Contest
