Australian Baseball League Playoffs Begin Friday (Early, Early AM EST)
The Canberra Cavalry will face the Sydney Blue Sox for three-game Australian Baseball League Preliminary Final set to begin Friday. The winner of the best-of-three series will travel to Perth for a Claxton Shield clash with the Heat. Tigers Introduce New Eats for Playoffs
The Detroit Tigers have introduced four new items for the ALDS playoffs, including the 50/50 Burger (50 percent ground beef, 50 percent ground bacon), Prime Time (smoked prime rib sandwich), Triple Smoke Sampler (smoked turkey, brisket, and pulled pork BQ), and Shortcake Slider (ice cream between waffles). Texas-Sized Food Additions Too Big, Too Late
The Texas Rangers and Delaware North Companies Sportservice introduced five new Texas-sized foods items at Rangers Ballpark on Thursday in preparation for the playoffs. MLB Expands Playoffs
Major League Baseball and the Players Association finalized an agreement Friday to add two additional wild card teams to the playoffs starting this season. The new 10-team post-season schedule will have the two wild card teams in each league battling in a one-game, winner-moves-on playoff. Read more here.
