P-Nats Extend Ballpark Lease Until 2020

The Potomac Nationals (Single-A, Carolina League) confirmed at their Hot Stove Banquet on Sunday that the club has extended its lease to play at Pfitzner Stadium until the 2020 season.  They also have the option to end the lease early if they are able to find the opportunity to move into a new stadium elsewhere.   Read more here.

P-Nats Host Inaugural Two-Day Polar Plunge

PRESS RELEASE – While temperatures plummet in Northern Virginia and around the country, the Potomac Nationals encourage fans to participate in the first annual two-day P-Nats Polar Plunge at Pfitzner Stadium on Tuesday, January 7th and Wednesday, January 8th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm each day.

Fire Takes Out Front Offices at P-Nats’ Home

A fire broke out late this afternoon at Pfitzner Stadium, home of the Single-A Potomac Nationals (Carolina League), from an apparent inside gas leak.  According to a fire official, the second-floor front offices were destroyed.  Beyond one employee being treated for smoke inhalation, nobody else was hurt.  The team is currently playing on the road.  Read more here and here.

New Field Unveiled at Pfitzner Stadium

PRESS RELEASE – On Tuesday morning, February 21, the Potomac Nationals peeled back a protective field blanket and unveiled a spectacularly green playing surface. With Opening Day just around the corner, this new state-of-the-art field has transformed Pfitzner Stadium and elevated its surface to the highest level.

Pfitzner Stadium to Get Field Upgrades After Spat

Despite the fact that Potomac Nationals owner Art Silber is working on a new privately-funded ballpark for his Single-A, Carolina League club, Prince William County (VA) has decided to spend up to $250,000 on playing field upgrades at Pfitzner Stadium.  Read more here.  Just last week, there was a three-way spat between Silber, the county, and the Washington Nationals over the field’s conditions.

P-Nats to Finally Get New Park?

Goodbye Pfitzner Stadium?  The Single-A Potomac Nationals will hold a press conference later this month to unveil plans for a new privately-financed ballpark in Northern Virginia.  Team owner Art Silber is stoked about the the new location and expects the P-Nats to set a new MiLB record for ballpark naming rights.  Read more here.
