Diamond Club Entertainment LLC, which previously proposed a baseball complex in the city of Pewaukee (WI) and the village of Summit (WI), now has its sights set on a new location in the city of Oconomowoc (WI). The development, which calls for a 2,500-seat ballpark and a 60,000-square-foot training center attached to the field, would be on nearly 22 acres in Pabst Farms, south of Interstate 94 and directly west of Wisconsin Harley-Davidson, which is at 1280 Blue Ribbon Drive. Members of the Pewaukee (WI) plan commission continue to have concerns about the proposed massive Lake Country Commons development which has been in the works since May. Developers of the proposed project appeared in front of the commission Aug. 16, looking for conceptual approval of a scaled-back proposal that includes two baseball stadiums — one of which would seat 2,500 people, nearly 200 units of multifamily housing, and a public market. Milwaukee (WI)-area ballparks are on deck in Franklin and Waukesha. Now comes Pewaukee with Lake Country Commons — a proposed $65 million, 144-acre athletic and residential community development that includes plans for a 2,500-seat baseball stadium, five or six lacrosse fields, a nine-hole golf course, public market, restaurant and two apartment complexes comprising 410 living units.
