A group led by former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Peter O’Malley and pro golfer Phil Mickelson reportedly reached an agreement Monday to buy the San Diego Padres for around $800 million.  Read more here.

O’Malley Out as Suitor for Dodgers

Former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Peter O’Malley is reportedly no longer interested in buying the Dodgers.  His bid was backed in part by the South Korean conglomerate E-Land.  O’Malley was one of 11 bidders to survive the first cut.  A group led by famed MLB field manager Joe Torre withdrew from the bidding process a couple of days ago.  Read more here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the link.
