War Memorial Stadium to Host Craft Beer Bash

From noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, historic War Memorial Stadium in Hampton (VA), home of the Peninsula Pilots (Summer Collegiate, Coastal Plain League), will host the third annual Craft Beer Bash, featuring more than a dozen local breweries. Hampton Newspaper Rejects Idea of Renovating or Building New Ballpark

Peninsula Pilots LogoHampton (VA) continues to ponder renovating 68-year-old War Memorial Stadium, home of the Peninsula Pilots (Summer Collegiate, Coastal Plain League), or building a new ballpark at a price tag of around $9 million.  The local newspaper is not too hip on the idea of spending money on either plan being batted around.  Read more and view photo gallery here.

Rip Rap Road Property Could Be Target for New Pilots Ballpark

Peninsula Pilots LogoAs previously reported, Hampton (VA) is considering building a new baseball stadium for the summer collegiate Peninsula Pilots (Coastal Plain League).  A large parcel of land at the corner of Rip Rap Road and N Armistead Avenue could be the location of the proposed new ballpark.  Read more and view news report showing property here .  The team currently plays at War Memorial Stadium built in 1948.

Hampton (VA) Considers New Downtown Ballpark

Peninsula Pilots LogoHampton (VA) Mayor George Wallace believes America’s pastime could be used to connect the city’s historic downtown with its largest commercial district.  He is exploring building a new downtown ballpark for the summer collegiate Peninsula Pilots (Coastal Plain League).  The team currently plays at War Memorial Stadium built in 1948.  Read more here.

Pilots Announce Presenting Sponsor
