Ashwaubenon Approves Ballpark Deal
The Ashwaubenon Village (WI) Board on Tuesday night approved a 20-year lease with Big Top Baseball for a new $10-million stadium for the Green Bay Bullfrogs (Summer Collegiate, Northoods League). The deal calls for Big Top to provide an up-front investment of $500,000 and an annual lease payment of $205,000 through 2023 with a 1 percent increase each year thereafter through 2038. United Shore League Wraps Up Successful Sophomore Season at Jimmy John’s Field
The United Shore Professional Baseball League wrapped up its sophomore season Sunday with a 4,050 fans gathered at Jimmy John’s Field in Utica (MI) for the developmental league’s title game. On the season, the USPBL averaged 3,350 fans per game and sold out 60 of its 75 games — up from 42 last season. Read more here.

Gastonia Locks Down Ballpark Design Deal with Pendulum

Pendulum to Study McCoy Stadium
Keeping a promise that was made back on June 4, Rhode Island and Pawtucket officials along with the Pawtucket Red Sox (Triple-A, International League) announced Monday they have selected architectural design firm Pendulum Studio, LLC to study McCoy Stadium and the surrounding area. Dunkin’ Donuts Park Construction Could Resume Soon
Jonathan O’Neil Cole of Pendulum is ready to go back to work at Dunkin’ Donuts Park. Cole, the stadium’s architect, is a key player in having construction begin again. Cole said it’s possible construction could resume in early September. Read more here.

Work to Complete Dunkin’ Donuts Park Could Resume this Week
The city of Hartford (CT) Tuesday said it has agreed to pay the architect for Dunkin’ Donuts Park more than $245,000 for work previously done on the minor league baseball stadium, clearing the way for the company to resume operations on the long-stalled project. Read more here.

A Possible New Ballpark for Gastonia Grizzlies, Pumpkin Beer Fest on Deck
Gastonia (NC) leaders are exploring building a downtown baseball stadium that could replace Sims Legion Park and become the new home of the summer collegiate Gastonia Grizzlies (Coastal Plain League). Rock Cats to Hartford: The New Ballpark Planning Study
For those interested in ballpark feasibility research and analysis, Brailsford & Dunlavey, in partnership with Pendulum, handled the duties for Hartford (CT), as the “Insurance Capital of the World” sought to lure the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats (Eastern League) 12 miles northeast to a new downtown Hartford ballpark. Woodchucks Open Newly Renovated Ballpark
The summer collegiate Wisconsin Woodchucks (Northwoods League) held their home opener Friday night in front of 1,751 at newly renovated Athletic Park in Wausau (WI). The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters defeated the Woodchucks 8-4 to keep the home team winless at 0-4, but let’s focus on the ballpark renovations designed by Pendulum! View Twitter photos here. Athletic Park Renovations Nearing Completition
The renovations being done to the historic Wausau (WI) home of the summer collegiate Wisconsin Woodchucks (Northwoods League) are nearing completion. We’ve always loved Athletic Park as it was, but these improvements should take the franchise to a whole new level. The Woodchucks home opener is scheduled for Friday, May 30.
