Sea Dogs, Red Sox Extend PDC

PRESS RELEASE – The Portland Sea Dogs and Boston Red Sox today announced the extension of their Player Development Contract (PDC) for an additional two years. With the extension, the Red Sox will continue to have a Double-A Eastern League affiliate in Portland through 2022, the longest permitted term under the current Professional Baseball Agreement (PBA).

Cubs, Pelicans Extend PDC

PRESS RELEASE – The Chicago Cubs today announced the organization has agreed on a two-year Player Development Contract extension with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans through the 2022 season. The announcement also included extensions for Triple-A Iowa, Double-A Tennessee, and Single-A South Bend. Single-A Eugene signed a four-year extension through 2022, announced this past August.

MLB/MiLB Affiliation Update

Every two years, Minor League teams with expiring player development contracts (PDC) have the option to change the MLB club with which they affiliate.  Click here for the latest.  Not shown on the list are Amarillo’s (Double-A, Texas League) affiliation with the San Diego Padres, and Colorado Springs’ (Rookie, Pioneer League) affiliation with the Milwaukee Brewers.  The later is merely an extension of the PDC the former Helena Brewers held before relocating to Colorado after the 2018 season.

PRESS RELEASE – The Lancaster JetHawks, High-A California League, announced today a new Player Development Contract with the Colorado Rockies. The agreement is for two years and will span the 2017 and 2018 seasons. The Rockies become the fifth affiliate in the JetHawks franchise history, replacing the Houston Astros who had been affiliated with the JetHawks for the past eight seasons.

Generals, D-Backs Agree to PDC

PRESS RELEASE –  2017 will mark the beginning of a new era for minor league baseball in West Tennessee, as the Generals and Arizona Diamondbacks announced a four-year player development contract Monday. With the agreement in place, the Jackson Generals will be Arizona’s Double-A affiliate through at least 2020.

BayBears, Angels Agree to PDC

Fisher Cats, Blue Jays Extend PDC
