Governor Caps Potential State Funding for New PawSox Ballpark

State, city and Pawtucket Red Sox (Triple-A, International League) negotiators will not say how much each might commit to building a new stadium in Pawtucket (RI), but the governor clearly has a ceiling on the state’s contribution: $35 million.  Read more here

Pawtucket Ballpark Study Yields Better-Than-Expected Results

The city and state could see a combined $130 million in fiscal benefits over 30 years if a new stadium for the Pawtucket Red Sox (Triple-A, International League) is built at the Apex Department Store site on Main Street and development happens around it.  A spokesman for Mayor Donald Grebien said the study yielded surprising results.  Read more here.

PawSox Release Ballpark Design Concepts

City, PawSox Await Results of Ballpark Study

The city of Pawtucket (RI) and the Pawtucket Red Sox (Triple-A, International League) are currently looking at two potential sites for a new ballpark – a wooded area on Taft Street known as the “Tidewater site” and the location where the iconic Apex building now stands in the shadow of I-95.  The city has commissioned an economic impact study of the two locations, which should be released in the coming weeks.  Read more here.
