Doubledays Hire New Radio/Public Address Announcer

PRESS RELEASE – The Auburn Doubledays announced today the hiring of Eli Pearlstein as the “voice of the Doubledays” for the 2012 season. Upgrades Approved, New Name Possible for Bowman Field

The Bowman Field Commission has given approval to spend $25,o00 for brighter lights and new foul poles at Bowman Field, home of the Single-A Williamsport Crosscutters (New York-Penn League).  The city is also working to sell the naming rights to the ballpark for a speculated $30,000 to $40,000 per year for three years.  The corporate sponsor’s name would simply be added to, not replace Continue reading

Crosscutters Get Paid for Ballpark Maintenance and Management

WVU Wants NYPL Club for Ballpark Project

As we posted last week, West Virginia University is looking at building a new ballpark at University Town Center in Granville (WV).  To mitigate the cost, WVU would like to partner with a Single-A New York-Penn League club to fill seats during the summer months.  Read more here.

Grass Getting a Little Blue at Dodd Stadium

The Podunk Bluegrass Music Festival will take up residence at Dodd Stadium, home of the Single-A Connecticut Tigers (New York-Penn League), this summer.  The four-day event will take place from Aug. 2-5, when the Tigers are on the road.  This will be the first time the festival has been held at Dodd.  It is expected to draw 5,000 to 10,000 bluegrassers.  Read more here.

Mets Not Moving Affiliation to Norwich

B-Mets Vehemently Deny Reports of Sale, Relocation

Centennial Field Gets Playing Surface Makeover

Batavia Muckdogs Will Live Again in 2012…Maybe
