The North Augusta (SC) City Council gave Project Jackson first-reading approval by a 6-1 vote Monday night. The $144 million riverfront development would include a new stadium for the Single-A Augusta GreenJackets (South Atlantic League). Two more readings of the ordinance amending an existing Tax Increment Financing district are scheduled for Nov. 4 and Nov. 18. Read more here.

School Board Approves Financing for North Augusta Project
The Aiken County (SC) School Board voted 7-2 Tuesday night to approve the district’s portion of TIF financing needed for Project Jackson, which incorporates a new baseball stadium for the Single-A Augusta GreenJackets (South Atlantic League).
