Target Field to Host NHL’s 2021 Winter Classic

The NHL announced Wednesday that the Minnesota Wild will play in the 2021 Winter Classic  hosted at Target Field on Jan. 1, 2021.  The Wild’s opponent, as well as additional details for the Winter Classic, will be provided at a future date.  Read more and watch news report here.

Hartford Whalers (NHL) Alumni Weekend Begins Tonight

The Hartford Yard Goats (Double-A, Eastern League) will pay homage to the former Hartford Whalers (NHL) Friday-Sunday with a Whalers alumni weekend extravaganza.  There will be fireworks, a poster giveaway, appearances by former Whalers players, and the team will be sporting themed jerseys and caps.  Read more and watch news report here.  View photo gallery here.

Hartford Yard Goats Unveil Branding

The Hartford Yard Goats (Double-A, Eastern League) unveiled their visual identity Wednesday at a press conference at the XL Center and the team acknowledged Hartford’s “rich sports history” with the colors that pay homage to the city’s former NHL franchise.  Read more and watch unveiling here.

Coors Field, Target Field in Running for Outdoor NHL Games?

This NHL is expected to announced this weekend during the All-Star Game in Columbus (OH) that the Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild will host outdoor games next season.  In addition to football stadiums, outdoor venue options include Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, and Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins.  Read more here and here.

NHL’s Winter Classic Today at Nationals Park

NHL Wraps Up Outdoor Hockey Series at Yankees Stadium

The 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series wrapped up at Yankee Stadium Wednesday night, as the NHL’s New York Rangers defeated the New York Islanders 2-1.  Just four days earlier on Sunday afternoon, the Rangers beat New Jersey Devils 7-3 at the famous ballpark.  A total of 100,132 fans attended the two games.  Read more and view photo here.

Despite High Temps, Ready for NHL Hockey (and KISS) at Dodger Stadium

The temps in Los Angeles have been about 20 degrees above normal for this time of year, but the NHL rink at Dodger Stadium is ready for Saturday night’s game between the L.A. NHL Game at Dodger Stadium Confirmed

The first regular-season NHL game scheduled for an outdoor venue in a warm-weather city has been finalized, as the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks will face off at Dodger Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Dodgers, on Jan. 25, 2014.  Read more here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the link.

NHL’s Ducks, Kings to Face Off at Dodger Stadium

Winter Fare Slated for Winter Classic

It won’t be your typical summer fare at Citizens Bank Park, home of MLB’s Philadelphia Philles, when the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers face off for the 2012 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic outdoor hockey game on Jan. 2.  Specialty soups, sandwiches, and hot chocolate are just a few of the items expected to keep tummies warm and happy.  Read more and view video here.

Phillies Ballpark Readies for 2012 Winter Classic

Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, will host the NHL’s 2012 Winter Classic on Jan. 2 at 1:00 p.m. EST between the Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Rangers.  Check out a time lapse video here of the field being transformed into an outdoor hockey rink.

Nassau Co. Referendum Would Tie NHL, Atlantic League Projects Together

Silver Knights Give Away Powerade Until Bruins Score Power-Play Goal
