Mavericks First Full Season in Portsmouth Considered a Success

Seacoast Mavericks LogoThe summer collegiate Seacoast Mavericks (Futures Collegiate Baseball League) finished their first full season at Leary Field in Portsmouth (NH), after taking the facility and market for a six-game test spin last season.  Mavericks owner Dave Hoyt and FCBL commissioner Chris Hall appear to be pleased with the team’s 435 fans per game performance.  Read more hereView photos here.

Mavericks Make Move Official

Preparing for Gill Stadium’s Centennial Celebration

Plans are being finalized in Manchester (NH) for festivities celebrating Gill Stadium‘s 100th anniversary.  The historic ballpark opened as Textile Field on Sept. 8, 2013.  Gill last hosted professional baseball in 2004, when the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats played their entire home schedule at Gill Stadium while their new home was being built.  Read more here.

Seacoast Mavericks in Portsmouth Tonight

The summer collegiate Seacoast Mavericks (Futures Collegiate Baseball League) will play the first of six games at Leary Field in Portsmouth (NH) on Friday, July 20.  The Mavericks will return to Leary on July 28 for one more and August 1-4 for a four-game series.  View schedule here.  No ownership group has been able to penetrate the Portsmouth market over the years, but the Mavericks are giving it a shot.
