Try, Try Again in Nassau County

Boulton Still Interested in Nassau County

Despite a rejection of a the $400 million referendum vote in Nassau County (NY) this week that would have funded a new arena for the NHL’s New York Islanders and a new stadium for an iny pro Atlantic League expansion franchise, Long Island Ducks (Atlantic League) owner Frank Boulton has not thrown in the towel.  Read more here.

Voters Reject Atlantic League Ballpark, Coliseum in Nassau County

With 82 percent of the ballots counted, voters in Nassau County (NY) have rejected borrowing $400 million to replace the arena for the NHL’s New York Islanders and build a new ballpark for an Atlantic League expansion franchise.  Read more here.

Ducks, Mets Submit Proposals for New Nassau Ballpark

The Atlantic League’s Long Island Ducks and the New York Mets have submitted competing bids to place a team in a new minor-league baseball stadium in Nassau County.  This is contingent upon voters approving a $400 million bond to build the park and the new arena for the NHL’s New York Islanders.  Read more here.

Nassau Co. Referendum Would Tie NHL, Atlantic League Projects Together

Nassau County to Swing for Atlantic League Fences

Nassau County (NY) Executive Edward Mangano indicated on Monday that the county hopes to break ground on a new minor league stadium by the spring of 2012 for an Atlantic League team.  As proposed, the county would guarantee funding for the project, with the team making all of the payments on the debt.  Read more here.  This wouldn’t be the first time Nassau County has been in the game.  Read more here.
