Charlie Daniels joined the summer collegiate Prospect League’s Nashville Outlaws for a pre-game concert on June 11 to raise money for flood relief. Daniels is a self-described “big sports fan.” Read more here. Too bad he’s not interested in owning a team. The Outlaws were taken over by the league, which is still struggling to find a new owner. The summer collegiate Prospect League has taken over the Nashville Outlaws and will operate the club during the 2011 season. The founders of the 2010 inaugural franchise notified the league in March that they would not be returning. If the team is to survive beyond this year, a new owner will have to be found. PRESS RELEASE – The Nashville Outlaws introduced their newest member of the team this weekend at the Vanderbilt games. Waylon The Coyote is the official mascot of the Outlaws, and will be at every game at Hawkins Field this summer.

PRESS RELEASE – The Nashville Outlaws baseball team was introduced today as the newest members of the Prospect League to begin play this summer. The Outlaws take the field in June and play 56 games through August which, 28 games will be played in Nashville.
