Fort Bragg’s MLB Field of Dreams Taking Shape

Construction continues on a new 12,500-capacity ballpark at Fort Bragg (NC) in preparation for a July 3 game between the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins in celebration of the nation’s Service members.  As we shared previously, the game will be broadcast live on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball.  Read more and view photos here.  View official announcement here.  See before/after photos here.

Head of MLB Players Union Passes Away at 51

After a 15-month battle with brain cancer, Michael Weiner, the executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association, passed away on Thursday at his home in New Jersey.  He was 51.   Read more here.  Read MLBPA press release here.
