The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers baseball team played their last game at Siebert last night in front of a crowd of 1,421 fans and old-timers who came back to say goodbye. Siebert has been the home for the Gophers for the past 41 seasons. Construction is expected to begin soon on a new $7.5 million replacement. Read more here and here.

The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers baseball team had the honor of playing the first game ever at Target Field, the new home for the Minnesota Twins, back on March 27. The experience offered an unforgettable taste of what could be if the Gophers are able to raise the private funds necessary to replace Siebert Field with a new $15-$18 million ballpark of their own.
