Shuckers Open New Ballpark
The on, off, and on again June 6 opening of the new MGM Park became a reality Saturday night, as the Biloxi Shuckers (Double-A, Southern League) kicked off their inaugural home stand in front of a sellout crowd of 5,095. Read more here. View photo gallery here.
Opening of MGM Park Back to June 6
Forget the delayed Aug. 4 opening of MGM Park reported a couple days ago. An agreement has been reached for the Biloxi Shuckers (Double-A, Southern League) to play their first home game against the Mobile Bay Bears on June 6, as previously planned. Read more here.

Biloxi Ballpark Opening Delayed
The Biloxi Shuckers (Double-A, Southern League) won’t be moving into MGM Park as expected on June 6 due to construction delays. Instead, the team will remain on the road until the City of Biloxi and its partner, Yates Construction, can finish the job. Both the club and city are hopeful the ballpark can open by Aug. 4 or sooner. Read more and view photo here.

Racing Toward the Ballpark Finish Line
Work crews have started putting seats in the bowl of the Biloxi Shuckers’ (Double-A, Southern League) stadium along with drainage in the outfield and are laying out the bases. Shuckers, City Agree to Deal to Speed Ballpark Construction
The Biloxi Shuckers (Double-A, Southern League) and Overtime Sports will kick in at least $925,000 in upgrades to the minor league baseball stadium to hurry its construction. In exchange, the city will forego the $2 surcharge on ticket sales in 2015 and 2016 for the first 231,250 tickets sold. Read more and view photos here.

Another $1 Million to Open New Biloxi Ballpark in April
The City of Biloxi (MS) has one week to decide where the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers (Southern League) will open the 2015 baseball season. If city leaders want the first home game to be played at MGM Park, and avoid a penalty of $10,000 for each game the Shuckers are forced to play elsewhere, it will cost another $1 million. Schuckers to Play at Least 15 Games in Huntsville
As everyone expected, the final departure of minor league baseball from Huntsville (AL) has been delayed, as the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers (Southern League), formerly the Huntsville Stars, will play at least 15 home games at Joe W. Davis Stadium this summer, as work on the new MGM Park in Biloxi (MS) continues. Read more here.

The relocating Double-A Huntsville Star (Southern League) will be known as the Biloxi Shuckers when the team begins to play at MGM Park currently under construction in downtown Biloxi (MS). The team name, logos and uniforms were unveiled at an event Monday evening. Read more here.

Topping Out Ceremony at MGM Park
A “topping out” ceremony was held at MGM Park on Tuesday signifying that construction of the $36 million stadium has reached its highest point. Mayor A.J. Holloway signed the steel beam before it was hoisted, along with an American flag and a traditional evergreen tree, to the steel frame at the baseball park. Read more and view photo here.
