It’s time again for the Bronco Football Summer Classic at Memorial Stadium, home of the Single-A Boise Hawks (Northwest League). On Saturday, July 13, the Boise State football team will participate in a home run derby and charity softball game between the offense and defense. Proceeds will benefit The First Tee of Idaho. It will be the smurf turfers’ offense vs. defense, as the Single-A Boise Hawks (Northwest League) host the 5th Annual Boise State Football Summer Classic softball game for charity at Memorial Stadium on July 21. Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts had no kind words for Memorial Stadium, home of the Single-A Boise Hawks, when he visited the ballpark on Monday. The Northwest League club is an affiliate of the Cubs. The Hawks are currently working with Boise on a new ballpark deal. Read more here.
Cal Ripken, Jr. will break ground today on a new youth-sized replica of old Memorial Stadium, the former home of the Baltimore Orioles, on the stadium’s original site on 33rd Street as part of the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation‘s “Swing for the Future” campaign.
