No Financing, No K-Nines

K-Nines Stadium on Track, but Bonding Authority Returned

K-Nines Ballpark Might Be Delayed

Construction on the new ballpark for the indy pro Frontier League’s expansion franchise in Woodstock (IL) could be delayed until 2011, if the financing package is not secured by the end of July.  The McHenry County K-Nines had hoped to begin play next season.  Read more here.

K-Nines Ballpark Stimulated

The privately-funded Lakewood Sportsplex and baseball stadium project for the Frontier League’s McHenry County (IL) K-Nines are moving forward courtesy of the 2009 federal stimulus package. Out of the $27.5 million in bonding authority granted to McHenry County, the K-Nines will receive $3.57 million.  Read more here.

Proposed New Ballpark in Woodstock, IL Faces Wetlands Challege

A plan for a  for a new 3,200-seat stadium in Woodstock, IL that would host the McHenry County K-Nines will have to be modified because the layout encroaches on a farmed wetland.  A new plan will be presented to the Woodstock City Council on Dec. 15.  The timetable has the Frontier League’s K-Nines playing in their new home starting in 2011.  Read more here.
