The City of Richmond (VA) has announced a new agreement between the city, the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Double-A, Eastern League), and Virginia Commonwealth University that will commit the minor league team to stay in Richmond for a minimum of 30 years once a new ballpark is constructed. Debt Interest Savings Could Help Fund New Ballpark
Richmond (VA) Mayor Dwight C. Jones is proposing to refinance a chunk of the city’s debt at a lower rate, and use $1.5 million a year in savings to help finance a new ballpark for the Double-A Richmond Flying Squirrels (Eastern League). Read more here.
