‘Phinley’ Wins 2014 MiLB Mascot Mania

Phinley, the mascot for the Single-A Clearwater Threshers (Florida State League), took down 13 other league champions to become Minor League Baseball’s 2014 Mascot Mania champion.  Read more here.

2014 MiLB Mascot Mania Underway

Defeating the entire MiLB field of mascots last season, LouSeal, the mascot for the Triple-A Columbia Clippers (International League), became the second MiLB.com Mascot Mania champion.  LouSeal is back to defend his title, as the 2014 Mascot Mania competition is underway.  Fans have until August 4 to cast their votes in the initial “League Round.”  Read more and vote here.

2013 MiLB Mascot Mania Underway

Defeating a field of 64 last season, Orbit, the mascot for the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes (Pacific Coast League), became the first-ever MiLB.com Mascot Mania champion.  Orbit is back to defend his title, as the 2013 Mascot Mania competition is underway.  Fans have until August 1 to cast their votes in the initial “League Round.”  Read more and vote here.

With all the hoopla surrounding the unveiling of the Houston Astros’ new look yesterday, we forgot to mention that the ownership also introduced “Orbit,” the team’s new mascot.  Unfortunately, from our perspective, Houston’s Orbit pales in comparison to Mascot Mania champ “Orbit” from the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes (Pacific Coast League).  You make the call:

After six grueling rounds, Orbit from the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes (Pacific Coast League) took down Ike the Spike from the State College Spikes (New-York Penn League) to win MiLB’s “Mascot Mania” tournament.  Read more here and here.
