Great West League Adds Yuba City to 2017 Lineup
PRESS RELEASE – Yuba City is back in baseball after a long absence and looks to resume its historic rivalries as it was announced today they will be joining the Great West League for 2017. Great West League Begins Inaugural Season
The summer collegiate Great West League kicked off its inaugural 2016 season on Friday. The Marysville Gold Sox opened at home against the Chico Heat in front of 1,384 fans. Read more here. Newspaper Blasts Gold Sox Over Ballpark Dispute
In an editorial, the Appeal-Democrat blasts away at the Marysville Gold Sox (Independent, Summer Collegiate) because the team is pushing back against the city’s request for an increase in its annual payment to use Colusa Casino Stadium. We think the newspaper is out of its mind claiming the city is “subsidizing a private business,” when the team is already paying a whopping $40,000 a year to use a horribly out-of-date, erector-set ballpark. It sounds like it’s city is looking for a subsidy. Read more here.

Chair Collapses, Gold Sox Fan Sues
72-year-old Sylvia Lethridge, a longtime fan of the Marysville Gold Sox (Summer Collegiate, Horizon Summer Series), is suing the team and city of Marysville (CA) after a seat at the ballpark collapsed, injuring her shoulder. She filed a damage claim with the city last year, but it was rejected. Read more here.

Gold Sox Announce New Ballpark Naming Rights Partner
