PRESS RELEASE – The Bismarck Larks have made big changes to their 2020 season. The biggest change is welcoming two other Northwoods League teams to the community, the Flickertails and Bull Moose. To eliminate travel, the three teams will each play a 48-game schedule against each other for a total of 72 games at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, home of Dakota Community Bank & Trust Field.

Mandan Ballpark Renovations Still on Track for July Start
Mandan Veterans Memorial Ballpark ballpark built in the 1950s is scheduled for a much-needed renovation in July. The $2.5 million renovation project will include 500 additional seats, upgrades to the grandstand wings, dugout, canopy and press box. The project is expected to be completed by spring 2019. Read more here. We can’t help but to continue to speculate that Mandan (ND) could become a cross-town rival/travel partner for the Bismarck Larks (Summer Collegiate, Northwoods League).
Mandan (ND) Ballpark Renovations on Track
Mandan Veteran’s Memorial Ballpark in Mandan (ND), across the Missouri River from Bismarck (ND), will undergo a $2.5 million renovation project beginning next summer. To date, $1.5 million has already been raised. Read more here. As we pondered back in September, could Mandan become a future cross-river rival for the Bismarck Larks (Summer Collegiate, Northwoods League)? It’s a stretch from a 20,000-population standpoint, and Legion ball appears to be the primary focus, but the far-flung Northwoods circuit does have a huge footprint gap to fill.

A $2.5 million renovation project pitched for the Mandan Memorial Ballpark in Mandan (ND) across the Missouri River from Bismarck (ND), garnered a commitment of at least $500,000 from the Mandan Park Board on Monday.
