The summer collegiate Lorain County Ironmen on Thursday announced that the team has left the Prospect League and will begin play in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League beginning in 2015. The Pipe Yard Gets New Name
The Pipe Yard, home of the summer collegiate Lorain County Ironmen (Prospect League), has a new name. The ballpark will now be known as “Pipe Yard Stadium powered by FirstEnergy Solutions.” The ballpark naming rights deal with the power company is for eight years and appears to be funded solely by discounted energy provided to the city. The summer collegiate Prospect League’s Lorain County Ironmen have unveiled their new logo and launched a new website that is still under construction. The Ironmen replaced the NorthCoast Knights in the Prospect League lineup and will begin play at The Pipe Yard in Lorain (OH) this season.

At a press conference this afternoon, it was announced that the newest team in the summer collegiate Prospect League will be known as the “Lorain County Ironmen.” The team replaces the North Coast Knights at The Pipe Yard in Lorain, OH. Read more here.
