Lee County (FL) commissioners approved a new lease Tuesday with the Minnesota Twins to keep the team’s spring-training operations at Hammond Stadium for the next 30 years.  The ballpark is slated to receive $47 million in improvements over the next few years.  Read about here.

Lee County Unveils Ballpark Renovation Plan to Keep Twins

Lee County (FL) released a 42-page document Friday detailing a proposed plan for more than $40 million in improvements to Hammond Stadium to keep the Minnesota Twins at Lee County Sports Complex for spring training for the next 30 or more years.  The agreement is expected to be an agenda item at the November 6 meeting of the commissioners.  Read more here.

Dorms, Naming Rights Sticking Points in Twins Spring-Training Negotiations

Lee County Courting Washington Nationals

The Boston Red Sox have moved their spring training operations to the new JetBlue Park in Fort Myers (FL), leaving City of Palms Park without a MLB team.  Lee County is now in discussions with the Washington Nationals to try and fill the void.  Read more here.

Fenway South Nearing Completion
