Mavericks Play Last Games in Portsmouth, Leary Field

After five summers playing its home games at the Leary Field near downtown Portsmouth (NH), Seacoast Maverick’s (Summer Collegiate, Futures League) owner Dave Hoyt confirmed that Sunday’s doubleheader games against Nashua were the last two games the team would play in the city.  Read more here.

Mavericks First Full Season in Portsmouth Considered a Success

The summer collegiate Seacoast Mavericks (Futures Collegiate Baseball League) finished their first full season at Leary Field in Portsmouth (NH), after taking the facility and market for a six-game test spin last season.  Mavericks owner Dave Hoyt and FCBL commissioner Chris Hall appear to be pleased with the team’s 435 fans per game performance.  Read more here.  View photos here.

Mavericks Make Move Official

The summer collegiate Seacoast Mavericks (Futures Collegiate Baseball League) made it official Monday that the team is moving from its home in Rochester (NH) to Leary Field in Portsmouth (NH).  Read more here.  This has been a long time coming for the coastal city, as efforts to bring a team to town have failed over the past decade.  That said, we highly recommend a branding upgrade

Mavericks Moving to Portsmouth

After testing the waters at Leary Field in Portsmouth (NH) for six games last season, the summer collegiate Seacoast Mavericks (Futures Collegiate Baseball League) have worked a deal to relocate the franchise from the team’s current home in  Rochester (NH) to the port city.  From our perspective, this is a bit of a coup, as efforts to bring a team to Portsmouth over the past decade have failed.   Read more here.

Seacoast Mavericks in Portsmouth Tonight

The summer collegiate Seacoast Mavericks (Futures Collegiate Baseball League) will play the first of six games at Leary Field in Portsmouth (NH) on Friday, July 20.  The Mavericks will return to Leary on July 28 for one more and August 1-4 for a four-game series.  View schedule here.  No ownership group has been able to penetrate the Portsmouth market over the years, but the Mavericks are giving it a shot.
