BlueClaws Take ‘What Could Have Been Day’ to Highest Level

This is how you do it!  The Single-A Lakewood BlueClaws (South Atlantic League) didn’t just design specials jerseys to become the Lakewood Pine Barons for “What Could Have Been Day” on Sunday, they created a complete line of merchandise and brought in a new mascot named “Chipper” to help complete the fantasy.  Watch video here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the link.

PRESS RELEASE – The BlueClaws played their first game in 2001 and unveiled their team name in 2000. At that time, hundreds of names had been sent in as nominations before the name “BlueClaws” was selected, but what might the name have been if BlueClaws was not selected?
