The Owners of the indy pro El Paso Diablos (American Association) are proposing to make Joplin (MO) their home if the city will agree to an estimated $5.9 renovation of Joe Becker Stadium. The city council voted unanimously Monday to continue discussions. The Diablos were forced out of the El Paso (TX) market with the arrival of a Triple-A Pacific Coast League club. Read more here. T-Bones and Wingnuts Will Play Exhibition in Joplin, Expansion Talks Continue
The indy pro American Association’s Kansas City T-Bones and Wichita Wingnuts will play an exhibition game in Joplin (MO) on May 12 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Joe Becker Stadium. The game also could help determine interest for bringing a team to the market. American Association Exploring Joplin
Charlie Meyer, president of the indy pro Lincoln Saltdogs (American Association), was in Joplin (MO) on Wednesday to take a close look at Joe Becker Stadium as a potential location for a new franchise.
