Joliet Council to Vote on New Stadium Naming Rights Deal

The Joliet City Council Stadium Committee voted 3-0 Monday to advance a new stadium naming rights agreement to the full council for a vote Tuesday.  The stadium will be renamed DuPage Medical Group Field.  The agreement will reportedly produce more revenue than a previous agreement with Silver Cross Hospital.  Read more here.

Ballpark Naming Rights Controversy in Joliet

The amount of money the city of Joliet (IL) gets from the naming rights agreement with DuPage Medical Group for the city-owned baseball stadium, home of the Joliet Slammers (Independent Professional, Frontier League), has not been disclosed, even to City Council members.   City officials and council members also are concerned that the new DuPage Medical Group Field name does not take into account the Joliet Route 66 Stadium name given to the stadium by ordinance in 2017.  Read more here.

City, Slammers Secure Ballpark Naming Rights Partner

The home of the Joliet Slammers (Independent Professional, Frontier League) in Joliet (IL) is reportedly getting a new name.  According to a source, the ballpark will be known as DuPage Medical Group Field at Route 66 Stadium.  An official announcement is expected soon.  Read more here.

Game Company Claims Purchase of Joliet Ballpark Naming Rights

When the twisted minds behind Cards Against Humanity asked fans to pitch in $15 to help the game company “save America,” almost any potential scenario was on the table, including digging a pointless hole in the ground.  On day six of their (anti-Donald Trump/advertising) campaign, they claim they have purchased the naming rights to the home of the Joliet Slammers (Independent Professional, Frontier League).  Read more and watch video here.  Read about Cards Against Humanity Saves Baseball here.  So, what do the Slammers have to say?

Joliet Ballpark to Adorn Route 66 Theme

The home of the Joliet Slammers (Independent Professional, Frontier League) will be re-named Joliet Route 66 Stadium, city officials announced. Frontier League All-Star Game Tonight in Joliet, Prison Giveaway Planned

The Joliet Slammers (Independent Professional, Frontier League) are giving away Joliet prison replicas to the first 1,000 fans on Wednesday, July 12, at the 2017 All-Star Game to be held at Slammers Stadium. Slammers Ask Fans to Name New Hound Mascot

Joliet Slammers JailBird JThe indy pro Joliet Slammers (Frontier League) have adopted a puppy, and they have appropriately chosen a convict-sniffing bloodhound to drive home the team’s branding theme.  Fans are now being asked to help the Slammers name the new pooch mascot.  “Jake” is way too obvious, but it’s the right way to go.  Watch puppy video and submit name suggestions here.

Lease, Lower Rent Approved for Slammers’ New Ownership Group

The Joliet City Council on Monday approved a five-year lease with the new owners of the indy pro Joliet Slammers (Frontier League) for the use of Silver Cross Field.  Joliet Community Baseball and Entertainment, led by Minneapolis attorney Josh Schaub, will start out by paying $50,000 in base rent per year, down from the $150,000 paid by the previous ownership, with an increase to $75,000 in 2015.  Read more here.

New Owner in Schaumburg
