Historic Carson Park, home of the summer collegiate Eau Claire Express (Northwoods League), is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Many players coming up through the ranks did their time at the old stadium, including home-run king Hank Aaron, who is honored with a statue on the front plaza, Joe Torre, and Bob “Mr. Baseball” Uecker. O’Malley Out as Suitor for Dodgers
Former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Peter O’Malley is reportedly no longer interested in buying the Dodgers. His bid was backed in part by the South Korean conglomerate E-Land. O’Malley was one of 11 bidders to survive the first cut. A group led by famed MLB field manager Joe Torre withdrew from the bidding process a couple of days ago. Read more here. Torre, Caruso No Longer Bidding for Dodgers
Famed MLB field manager Joe Torre and Los Angeles developer Rick Caruso have withdrawn a joint bid to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers, because owner Frank McCourt refuses to include the Dodger Stadium parking lots in the deal. The pair could return to the table, if circumstances change. Nine suitors are thought to still remain in the bidding game. Read more here.

Joe Torre to Make Play for Dodgers
Famed field manager Joe Torre has quit his executive job with Major League Baseball to join a group led by Rick Caruso, a Los Angeles-based real estate developer, to pursue ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
