The Minnesota Twins have committed $594,000 for an estimated $2 million improvement plan for Joe O’Brien Field, home of the Elizabethton Twins (Rookie, Appalachian League). The rest of the money would need to be matched by the city or donors. The plan is split into three phases, starting with building a new clubhouse, more and improved stadium seating, and turning the current home locker room into the visiting team’s locker room. ‘The Joe’ Gets a Facelift
Fans of the Appalachian League’s Elizabethton (TN) Twins will experience a few facility upgrades at Joe O’Brien Field (“The Joe”) when the Rookie-level team takes the field for its season opener on June 21.
